From the quote screen you can place your buy and sell orders which are filled instantly at the quoted price. Many forex trading software platforms will have charts of price movements that can be scaled to any time frame along with many option for technical indicators. There are also stand alone trading software packages, like MetaTrader, that are very advanced and can connect to your trading account with any number of forex brokers. Advanced forex trading software allows the user to create their own program interfaces (API) to automate processes including creating your own trading systems that produce trading signals or even automate your trading based on the system you define.
