Private health insurance gives added financial security. The public health care system is currently inadequate for the vast majority of the population, though there is lots of talk of introducing a more comprehensive public health care system. If it does happen we are still years away from it. Many employers offer health care plans within they benefits packages. Depending on what it covers you may or may not need added coverage. Review your current plan to see if it covers your needs. Getting added personal health insurance coverage, over and above your employers plan, can be very affordable. Just be certain your not paying extra for coverage you may already have through your benefits plan. Health insurance can cover what would be a very expensive stay at a hospital for an injury or sickness. Besides covering those expenses it can also cover the income you might loose should your health problems prevent you from working.
